Buryatia entered the three most popular tourist destinations of the Far East

Buryatia took the third place among the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District in popularity among Russian tourists in the first half of 2026. According to Sber2B Analytics, the republic accounted for 15.8% of the trips of Russians in the Far Eastern Federal District - ahead of only the Primorsky and Khabarovsk Territory.

The attractiveness of the region is formed by natural and cultural attractions: Lake Baikal, Buddhist shrines, original culture and picturesque routes among pine forests. Even in Ulan-Ude, travelers can get acquainted with natural landscapes thanks to the “Health Path” in the Upper Birch district. To it was added the eco-trail "Taphar Plateau", popularly called "Genggis Khan's Bet".
