Freight traffic on the railway in the Novgorod region increased by 0.9% in September

Railways of the Novgorod region in September showed a steady growth: the volume of loading amounted to 660 thousand tons - 0.9% higher than a year earlier, the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Novgorod region reported.

Chemical and mineral fertilizers remain the leader in terms of volumes - they accounted for almost 70% of all September loading (465.9 thousand tons). Particularly noticeable was the growth in individual segments: shipments of chemicals and soda increased 3.4 times (up to 17.4 thousand tons), and forest cargoes showed a twofold increase of 47.5 thousand tons.

In addition, in September, 72.9 thousand tons of industrial raw materials and molding materials and another 1.2 thousand tons of precast and other cargo were shipped. Since the beginning of the year, the total volume of loading has reached 5.6 million tons.
