Industry, agricultural sector and initiative people. We reveal the formula of economic success of Zhabinkovshchyna

Zhabinkovo district is traditionally associated with sugar production, but the economic palette of the territory is much wider. Here they produce mixed feed and premixes, master the production of multilayer panels and shock freezing of vegetables. Enterprises are updating capacities, expanding the range and geography of supplies, farmers are introducing digital technologies and modernizing livestock complexes. A new impetus to the Zhabinkov region gives the status of a city – a satellite of Brest: residential areas are growing, infrastructure is developing, jobs are created. Thus, maintaining strong traditions and confidently mastering new directions, the district forms further development prospects.

The economy of the Zhabinkovo district is steadily gaining pace, relying on the development of industry and agriculture, construction and trade. It modernizes leading enterprises, develops new types of products, introduces digital technologies in fields and farms, builds housing and social infrastructure. The coordinated work of labor collectives for the second year in a row provides the district with a place on the Republican Board of Honor. The main components of the success of Zhabinkovshchyna, new growth points and plans for the future are told by the Chairman of the Zhabinkovo District Executive Committee Andrei Kuzmich.

Andrey Kuzmich. — Andrey Nikolayevich, what is the economic foundation of Zhabinkovshchina today?
Andrey Kuzmich. — Andrey Nikolayevich, what is the economic foundation of Zhabinkovshchina today?

- The main points of support are agriculture, industry, construction and trade. According to the results of eight months, the volume of industrial production increased almost one and a half times. The growth rate of construction and installation works amounted to 109 percent, retail turnover - 107.9, agricultural products - 101.3 percent.

The region also showed steady dynamics in 2025: industry grew by 11 percent, agriculture by 6, investment by 18 percent. Revenue increased by 2.5 times, employment by 3 percent, real wages by 12 percent. A natural result of the overall work was the inclusion of the district on the Republican Board of Honor for the second year in a row.

Behind each figure are residents of Zhabinkovsk region - employees of enterprises, farmers, builders, teachers, doctors, representatives of culture and sports, youth. It is their work that allows the area to move forward.

- The results achieved provide a solid basis for further progress. What projects are already changing the economic landscape of the region?

- One of the largest implements Zhabinkovo sugar plant. After the reconstruction, the capacity to produce granular pulp will reach 262 tons per day, and in the future - 500 tons. The reconstruction of the molasses warehouse with the installation of a capacity of 20 thousand cubic meters is being completed.

Zhabinkovsk feed mill is modernizing production lines and plans to build a granary for about 10 thousand tons. The upgrade will allow to additionally produce up to 25 thousand tons of loose feed per year and increase the production of dry feed.

New directions are emerging. LLC "HAUSTUR" organizes the production of warm designer multilayer panels. LLC "RPKZ BelKon" in the framework of the initiative "One district - one project" launched shock freezing of onions and plans seasonal freezing of berries and vegetable mixtures.

Zhabinkovshchina has always been famous for its strong agricultural sector. What is the development strategy for agriculture in the region today?

- We see the main reserve in increasing the yield of each hectare and production efficiency. All agricultural organizations have implemented a digital platform “History of the Field”, GPS navigation and mapping are used.

We are also modernizing livestock. In JSC Rakitnitsa, it is planned to commission a dairy complex for 1,300 cows, in OJSC Voznesensky, a similar facility for 1,100 heads is being built. In the future, there will be a complex for growing repair young animals for 1000 heads in JSC "Zhabinkovskiy" and a dairy complex for 2000 cows in JSC "Rogoznyansky".

Jabinka has the status of a satellite city of Brest. What new opportunities does this offer for the development of the region?

- This status has become a serious impetus for development. New neighborhoods are growing, social and commercial infrastructure is expanding, enterprises are being modernized. The master plan until 2035 provides for the construction of a new microdistrict for almost 30 residential buildings with educational institutions, objects of trade and services, recreation areas.

Our goal is to create a city where people can live, work, raise children and spend their free time. Therefore, housing, infrastructure and jobs must be created simultaneously.

The emphasis on science and modern technologies: feed products of ConsulAgro LLC are in demand not only in Belarus, but also in the foreign market

Advanced technologies, scientific developments and strict quality control are at the heart of the work of ConsulAgro LLC. Built with an investment of 38 million rubles, the automated plant produces feed, premixes and super concentrates for cattle, pigs and poultry. Today, the enterprise provides products to more than 80 agricultural organizations of the country, increases production volumes and expands the geography of exports.

The company was established as part of an investment agreement concluded in January 2017. Already in December 2018, the plant was put into operation. At the time of construction, there were no analogues to such a complex with a high level of automation and biosafety in the CIS.

- The key feature of our production is the separation of technological lines for the production of products with and without antibiotics. Raw materials and finished feed are stored in separate isolated warehouses, and the routes of their movement do not intersect. All ingredients come to the address bins strictly by barcode. This allows you to accurately follow the recipe and ensure consistently high quality of products, - emphasizes the Director of ConsulAgro Vladimir Sitko.

Biosafety requirements begin to apply when entering the territory. There are two automatic barriers for handling transport and two car scales with a carrying capacity of 60 tons. This solution ensures separate movement of incoming raw materials and shipped products.

Accuracy at each stage is supported by a multi-stage system for mixing microcomponents and flow-type mixers for entering liquid components. The Quick Lift system moves premixes on a line of concentrates and feeds, and high-precision dispensers automatically block the flow after a set mass is collected.

A special place in the work of the enterprise is given to the laboratory. It controls raw materials and finished products at all stages of production in accordance with international standards and requirements. The analysis is based on 58 methods and covers 79 indicators. In some areas, including the study of amino acids, the company occupies a leading position in the country, in some - in the CIS.

- We put special emphasis on science and modern technologies. Our specialists go to farms, study the state of the feed base and select samples for research. Based on the results obtained, individual animal feeding programs are developed. At the same time, we strive to maximize the use of the client’s own feed, supplementing them with the necessary additives of our production, says the head of the enterprise. Today, the range of LLC "ConsulAgro" includes more than 50 types of products for cattle, pigs and poultry. Along with the domestic market, the company develops an export direction.

- More than 80 Belarusian agricultural enterprises work with our products. We also supply it to Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This year, products worth more than 57 million rubles were produced and sold. This is 18.1 percent more than in the same period last year. The physical volume index amounted to 114 percent, says Vladimir Sitko. From September to January: Zhabinkovsk Sugar Plant processes up to 10 thousand tons of sugar beet per day

Zhabinkovo Sugar Plant is one of the key enterprises of the district and an important link in the sugar industry of the country. During the season, raw materials coming from two regions are processed around the clock, providing the domestic market and developing exports. The stable operation of the large production mechanism is supported by a team of 600 people.

The current sugar brewing season started on September 5 and will approximately last until early January. At this time, production does not stop for a minute. The technological line needs to ensure continuous loading, which means that the acceptance of raw materials, its processing and production of finished products go around the clock.

The approach to the enterprise is reported by long trains filled to the top with sugar beets. One replaces the other, road transport approaches the unloading places. Behind the uninterrupted movement of raw materials is a precisely calculated logistics scheme.

- Today, the plant processes about 10 thousand tons of sugar beet and produces up to one and a half thousand tons of sugar per day. Raw materials come from 13 districts of Brest and two districts of Grodno region. About 60-65% of beets are transported by rail, the remainder by road. Such a scheme is associated with the remoteness of raw materials zones: it is more economically feasible to deliver large batches in wagons, says Alexander Poznansky, General Director of Zhabinkovo Sugar Plant.

From the acceptance of root vegetables to the receipt of the finished product takes about a day. First, the beets are cleaned and washed, then crushed into shavings, from which sucrose is extracted. The resulting juice goes through several stages of cleaning and evaporation. After cooking, centrifugation, drying and cooling, snow-white crystals are stored and packaged.

At each site, specialists control temperature, humidity and other technological parameters. Failure in one link can affect the entire chain, so the result depends not only on the power of the equipment, but also on the coherence of the team.

Last year, the company set its own record, processing 1 million 401 thousand tons of beets. The season lasted 140 days. The outcome of the current campaign will depend on the harvest and the amount of raw materials harvested. Foreign markets play an important role in the economy of the enterprise. The plant supplies abroad both basic products and granular pulp - feed raw materials obtained in the process of processing beets.

- Last year, about 60 percent of the sugar produced was exported. Among the foreign markets - Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, there were annual deliveries to the United States. We are developing new directions for the implementation of granular pulp. This year, for the first time, a trial container batch was sent to Japan, said Alexander Poznansky.

Other processing products also have practical applications. Melassa is in demand by enterprises of various industries, and defecation is used in agriculture. An integrated approach allows extracting additional economic returns from each ton of raw materials and expanding the range of demanded products.

In agriculture, the result consists of many factors: weather, seed quality, serviceability of equipment, compliance with technology. But the decisive one is the person who is entrusted with the field. For the tractor driver of the first class of OJSC "Rogoznyansky" Alexander Misiyuk, such responsibility has long become the main professional principle. In his native household, he worked for 37 years, and according to the results of the harvesting campaign, he was awarded the medal “For Labor Merit”.

Agriculture for Alexander Anatolyevich is a matter of a lifetime. In 1989, he graduated from the Drogichinskoye PTU No. 163, receiving specialties as a livestock mechanizer, electrician and tractor driver. The first place of work was the state farm "Rogoznyansky" named after the 50th anniversary of the USSR. After serving in the army, he returned here and since then remains faithful to one farm, with which he went from the first mechanized units to modern energy-saturated equipment.

Over the decades, the name and organizational form of the enterprise have changed, the machine and tractor park has been updated, and technologies have been improved. Today, Rogoznyansky OJSC, located in the agro-town of Leninsky, is engaged in mixed agriculture, developing crop production and livestock breeding. Here they rely on the production manufacturability, the quality of the feed base and increasing the efficiency of the dairy industry. However, even the most modern technology brings results only in the hands of an experienced mechanizer.

The technology today is modern, equipped with electronics. It greatly facilitates the work, but the person who manages it is responsible for the quality and future harvest. Before going to the field, I always carefully inspect the tractor and the unit - there are no small things in sowing. It is important to withstand the depth of seeding, the rate of sowing and pass the field in optimal time, says Alexander Misiyuk. It was sowing that became the work that the mechanizer mastered perfectly. The future harvest is largely on his shoulders. In 2024, Alexander Anatolyevich sowed 1,493 hectares of winter crops, in 2025 - already 1,703 hectares. Under the harvest of 2027, with his participation, 400 hectares of rapeseed, 91 hectares of antimony, 76 hectares of perennial herbs and 752 hectares of winter grain were sown. He prepared another 749 hectares for sowing.

But the scope of his duties is much wider. In spring, Alexander Misiyuk brings equipment to spring sowing, in summer he participates in forage harvesting and harvesting campaign, in autumn he again returns to plowing and winter wedge. In 2025, it sowed 1,435 hectares of spring crops and grasses, mowed 2,220 hectares of grass, compressed 1,844.5 tons of straw and hay. Behind these figures are long working shifts, the ability to quickly assess the state of equipment and the field, and the understanding that each lost day can affect the future harvest.

- For so many years, the farm has become native. The earth requires patience and full dedication: today you plant seeds, and you will see the result of your labor only months later. It is especially nice to look at the smooth shoots and understand that he did everything right. A high award for me is a great honor, but it is also the merit of the entire team, because one person cannot work in agriculture.
