One in five applications on Friday: What amounts are borrowed in banks before the weekend

On the last working day of the week, interest in loans is noticeably growing: people make plans for the weekend and more actively apply for money. Since the beginning of 2026, Friday accounted for about 20% of all applications - one in five. Such data were obtained by analysts of the company “Alfa-Money”, having studied how applications at the end of the week differ from applications from Monday to Thursday. More in our material.

Friday was among the most active days of the week in terms of the number of appeals. Moreover, customers on this day often bring the registration to the end: after approval, 66.3% of applicants receive money, while on other weekdays – 64.6%.

The average size of Friday loan for women is 25.1 thousand rubles, for men – 21.3 thousand rubles. The gap in favor of women persists on other weekdays.

The main audience of Friday appeals is young people:

54% of applications – customers from 18 to 35 years old;

29% - borrowers 36-44 years;

17% - customers 45 years and older.

Most often on Friday apply for payday loans (PDL) - about 55% of applications. Another 19% falls on lines of credit, 14% on medium-term loans and 12% on POS loans.

At the same time, the picture on issuances looks different: the main part of them are credit lines - 54% of the total volume, 25% - payday loans, 19% - medium-term loans and about 1% - POS loans.

Analysts conclude that Friday differs from other weekdays not by the size of the amounts, but by the likelihood of completing the registration. After approval, the client receives more money at the end of the week. In addition, by this day, a person has already formed a specific need for money, and he is ready to complete the registration process to the end.
