In total, in the off-season period of 2026/27, more than 20 thousand tons of fruit and vegetable products are planned to be delivered to trade and social facilities of the Brest region. The volumes are calculated taking into account the actual implementation last year, in relation to the budget sphere - taking into account the approved nutrition standards in educational and health institutions, the main department of trade and services drew attention.
The peculiarity of this season is that by state order, cucumbers and tomatoes grown in domestic greenhouse plants will also be supplied to shops. So, for the needs of the Brest region, 1.27 thousand tons of cucumbers and 0.85 thousand tons of tomatoes were reserved. Suppliers have been identified, volumes are distributed and contracts are concluded.
“For potatoes, vegetables and apples, all volumes have been distributed, appropriate decisions have been made, and supply contracts have been fully concluded. For the needs of trade organizations, deliveries will be carried out by 38 business entities, for the needs of the budget - 34, including 11 consumer cooperation organizations and a specialized enterprise TPUK "Plodoveshch".
In the south-western region, acceptance of places of storage of fruits and vegetables is being completed, commission surveys are being carried out, shortcomings are being eliminated. In parallel, the region harvested crops and began to prepare the laying of potatoes, vegetables and apples for storage.
" Mass bookmarking starts in early October. Separate crops (such as cabbage) will be laid in November. Cucumbers and tomatoes after collection will immediately fall on the shelves, — noted in the General Department of trade and services.
Supply of cucumbers and tomatoes to retail chains will begin on November 1, the rest of the crops – from November 15.
