Belarus’ Minister of Transport and Communications Alexey Lyakhnovich and China’s Minister of Transport Liu Wei signed a Memorandum on the introduction of electronic permits.

Minister of Transport and Communications of Belarus Alexei Lyakhnovich and Minister of Transport of China Liu Wei signed a memorandum on the introduction of electronic permits for international cargo transportation. This sb.by reported in the press service of the Ministry of transport and communications.

The document was signed at the Global Forum on Sustainable Transport in Beijing.
Cooperation between Belarus and China in the field of road transport has reached a new level. One of the main drivers for the growth of logistics efficiency should be the introduction of an electronic permit system, Alexey Lyakhnovich emphasized.
The transition to digital format is expected to bring a number of key benefits to the market. The system will eliminate the shortage of paper forms, which traditionally worsens at the end of the year. Digitalization minimizes the associated logistics costs and reduces the processing time of documents. Prompt obtaining of permits will increase the turnover of vehicles, which will directly reduce the final cost of delivery of goods.
The head of the Ministry of Transport also highly appreciated the partnership in the railway sector. Thanks to the coordinated actions of the parties, stable and uninterrupted movement of container trains along the strategic route China-Europe-China is ensured. In addition, within the framework of the strategic partnership, work is underway to expand passenger and cargo flights. The countries cooperate in creating end-to-end logistics chains for the transportation of Belarusian export cargoes, expanding technological exchange and introducing joint digital solutions.
Alexey Lyakhnovich also made a report on the use of artificial intelligence in the transport industry of Belarus.
- Computer vision and machine learning today allow you to obtain data on the external environment, analyze them and form three-dimensional models of the road situation in real time. We have created a system for recognizing the exit of wild animals on the roadway, which alerts drivers about the emerging danger. With the use of artificial intelligence, meteorological monitoring was introduced, the head of the department noted.
In addition, artificial intelligence is used in the development of the urban environment, optimization of public transport routes and is used in infrastructure planning.
