The Ministry of agriculture: in Belarus the provision of the market with domestic apples is developing positively

The domestic market supply with domestic apples is developing positively. This was noted on the air of the channel “Belarus 1” the head of the main department of crop production of the Ministry of Agriculture Nikolai Leshik, reports sb.by.

According to Nikolai Leshik, the laying of stabilization funds is a traditional event for farmers:

“There are proven producers who are able not only to grow but also to preserve their crops. As for the percentage of bookmarks in stabilization funds for the vegetable group, they range from 13 to 20 percent, onions - this is 45-50% of the produced volume. Products are enough, to select quality will be from what. As for apples, the country is expected to have a pretty good harvest. Anomalous phenomena that degrade quality, such as hail, extreme heat fluctuations, did not occur. The apple has grown into a marketable form. We plant more than a thousand hectares of modern drip irrigation gardens with winter varieties in demand in order to further saturate the market of our distribution networks not only from autumn to May, but also to ensure their safety until the new harvest.

In general, according to the expert, providing the domestic market with domestic apples is developing positively.

“We hope that in two years only Belarusian apple will be in demand by our consumers,” he said.

Nikolai Leshik also noted that this agricultural year was not very favorable for growing Belarusian watermelons. However, individual farms still received their harvest, and they promise to put exotic products at agricultural fairs.
