Tax tricks cost Kostroma timber manufacturer in 195 million rubles

The Kostroma Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee reports on the results of an investigation jointly conducted by employees of the SU IC and the FSB against the general director of one of the logging companies. The director of this firm, specializing in the wholesale trade of wood raw materials and lumber, for two years deliberately "shattered" his business between small and seemingly independent controlled firms.

Thanks to this “financial trick” the entrepreneur could use a preferential tax system for gaskets. The total amount of damage caused to the state treasury by such a trick exceeded 195 million rubles.

However, when such a scheme of tax evasion was revealed by employees of the regional departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB, the tax service, the clever entrepreneur was afraid of a possible sentence in the criminal case initiated against him and preferred to compensate for financial damage in full - all 195 million rubles, including penalties and fines.

Since the financial damage to the state was compensated, the criminal case against the cunning director was closed in accordance with the law.
