Revealed how long trump will assess sanctions against Russia

Donald Trump intends to spend 60 days analyzing the impact of sanctions against Russia and related tariffs on the global and American economies, said Marco Rubio.

The American diplomat explained that the complexity of the situation lies in the fact that these restrictive measures affect not only the Russian Federation, but also involve the introduction of tariffs against a number of countries, in particular India. This is why the President intends to spend the next two months on a thorough analysis of how such steps will affect the global and national economies.

The need for an in-depth study is dictated by the unstable situation in the world energy markets. He pointed out that the stability of hydrocarbon supplies is under the influence of a whole range of factors, including tensions around Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, attacks by Yemeni rebels on facilities in Saudi Arabia, as well as attacks on energy infrastructure in the framework of the confrontation between Russia and Ukraine. Rubio stressed that all these circumstances directly affect global energy pricing.

The Foreign Minister also touched upon the topic of India’s energy policy, noting that New Delhi is gradually and voluntarily expanding the geography of energy suppliers, but continues to purchase significant volumes of hydrocarbons from Russia. The diplomat acknowledged that it is impossible to radically rebuild logistics chains overnight, adding that India remains an important ally and partner for Washington. In conclusion, Marco Rubio said that the US administration will have to weigh all these factors before working out the optimal balance between sanctions and tariff regulation.
