Sber, as part of the import substitution program, completed a large-scale transfer of systems in which data on credit products of retail customers are stored and processed. Instead of a foreign database management system, the Russian Platform V Pangolin DB from SberTech is now used, Kirill Menshov, senior vice president, head of the Technology block of Sberbank, told this at the GigaConf conference for engineers.
All key processes of work with credit agreements were transferred to the new platform: creation of a loan agreement and collateral agreements, issuance of credit and maintenance, formation of reserves, work with problem debt, securitization and reporting.
Experts transferred more than 100 terabytes of data. Information is now distributed among several independent segments called shards. This architecture makes it possible to isolate potential failures.
Kirill Menshov, Senior Vice President, Head of Sberbank’s Technology Unit:
“Sber completed the migration of systems in which data on credit products of retail customers are stored and processed from a foreign solution to a domestic one – DBMS from SberTech.” This is one of the key stages of our import substitution strategy. Special attention during migration Sber paid to the safety of data and continuity of services. Now, on the new platform, consumer credit issuance has become three times faster, and the operating time of centralized repayment processes has been reduced by 20%. At all stages of the transition to the new platform, customers continued to use all the usual services of the bank.”.
