Shchukin: agriculture is the pride of Dagestan, but we need storage and processing

The head of Dagestan, Fyodor Shchukin, said that agriculture is not just a branch of the economy, but the pride of the republic, which is famous for rice, grapes, fruits, vegetables and livestock products.

Speaking at the session of the People’s Assembly of Dagestan, Shchukin noted that serious problems that require systemic solutions are behind these successes. The head of the region called for the construction of modern storage facilities and processing enterprises, support for local producers and the return of respect for labor on land.

“Then the village will have a future,” Shchukin said.

On October 15, the People’s Assembly of Dagestan elected Shchukin as head of the republic.
