Slovakia to sell electricity to Europe
Slovakia expects to significantly increase electricity supplies abroad from 2027

Slovakia expects to significantly increase electricity supplies abroad from 2027. This was stated by Prime Minister of the Republic Robert Fico after connecting the fourth unit of the Mokhovce nuclear power plant to the national energy grid, the TASR news agency reported.
According to the head of government, the country is approaching full independence in providing electricity. In the future, Slovakia intends to send 400 to 500 megawatts of capacity to the international market.
The development of nuclear energy allows the republic to strengthen its position, despite its small territory and population.
The fourth power unit of the Mokhovce NPP, located in the central part of the country, was connected to the power grid last week. It is currently operating at 19% capacity.
Once fully operational, the new unit is expected to provide about 13% of Slovakia’s electricity consumption.
There are two nuclear power plants in the republic - Mokhovce and Bogunice. The latter is in the western part of the country. Both stations were built with the assistance of Moscow.
