Subbotin: EEC has prepared a set of measures for product quality control in the EAEU

The Eurasian Economic Commission, pursuant to the instructions of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held in Minsk on October 2, prepared a package of measures aimed at ensuring the reliability of conformity assessment (quality control) in the association. This was announced at a press conference in Moscow by the Minister for Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Alexander Subbotin, reports sb.by.

The instructions of the heads of government of the Eurasian Economic Union concerned the development of an algorithm that allows you to quickly develop and finalize documents related to technical regulation in order to eliminate errors and inaccuracies, said Alexander Subbotin.

- Package of measures prepared. It consists of three huge sections: operational measures where we can make changes quickly and clearly, long-term measures and also a large section concerning the digitization of the whole process. The package of measures is based not on our fantasies, but on the initiatives of countries, that is, we first of all gathered all the ideas, all the wishes from all five countries. We conceptually approved all this and sent it back to the states for further coordination.

At the moment, the Eurasian Economic Commission is holding consultations with the governments of the EAEU member states on the draft decisions to be taken. It is expected that the work on the comprehensive document will be completed by December, Alexander Subbotin predicted.

- We expect a response from the governments of the five countries as soon as possible, within a week. But without waiting for official papers, we are conducting intensive negotiations with experts, with leaders, with state bodies that will form a country position. We hope that we will get the final approvals very quickly. We have a deadline set for December, when the prime ministers of five countries will meet again. And we must report at this event that the plan is completed, the plan is ready. Therefore, we have very little time, a lot of work, it is painstaking, but we are confident that we will have time and this set of measures will be ready in December, the EEC Minister for Technical Regulation concluded.
