Tatarstan plans to reduce the national debt to 50 billion rubles

The Republic of Tatarstan has embarked on a consistent reduction in public debt, and by the end of 2027 its volume may reach about 50 billion rubles. Such guidelines were announced by the head of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Faizrakhmanov at a meeting of the State Council Committee on Budget, Taxes and Finance. As of October 1, the national debt of the republic was estimated at 74.5 billion rubles, which is already significantly lower than in the beginning of the year, when it was approaching the mark of 100 billion.

A significant improvement in the situation was made possible by the write-off of some loans. In June of this year, the republic managed to repay almost 24 billion rubles of debt, which significantly eased the debt burden. The Minister noted that work in this direction continues: in 2027 it is planned to write off about 21 billion rubles. We are talking about restructured loans, the total amount of which is about 66 billion rubles.

In addition to restructured debt, there are treasury investment loans in the debt structure, which are repaid strictly on schedule. These funds have been provided to the republic for a ten-year period, and the necessary payments have already been included in the budget.
