The New York Times: the United States offered Europe to resume purchases of Russian gas
The administration of the American leader Donald trump made a proposal to return European countries to the purchase of Russian natural gas

The administration of the American leader Donald trump made a proposal to return European countries to the purchase of Russian natural gas. According to sources familiar with the matter, Washington views the move as part of a future peace treaty aimed at ending the conflict in Ukraine.
According to journalists, this idea was voiced by American negotiators Steve Whitkoff and Jared Kushner. It is noted that the Ukrainian side was proposed to restore the transit of Russian gas to Europe through existing pipeline routes. Washington believes that such a measure will allow European states to provide themselves with more affordable energy resources, and Kiev, in turn, will receive a stable income from the provision of transit services.
In addition, the American representatives expressed confidence that such a step would contribute to a speedy peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine. The initiative has not met with understanding from European officials, who opposed it, citing previous EU efforts aimed at completely eliminating imports of Russian energy.
Recall that on October 9, Donald Trump already announced the achievement of agreements with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding large-scale supplies of Russian diesel fuel to the American market. Then the American leader said that in November Russia plans to ship 500,000 tons of products, and immediately after that the volume of supplies will increase by another million tons.
