The event was attended by Minister of Energy Denis Moroz and Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Alexei Kushnarenko.

In Belarus, the modernization of the peat industry continues, the production of deep peat processing products is expanding, export supplies are developing. As Denis Moroz noted, peat remains an important domestic resource that plays a role in ensuring the energy security of the state. In recent decades, the industry has undergone a significant transformation. Thanks to the implementation of state programs, enterprises were reconstructed, production capacities were updated, conditions were created for the further development of peat production.

According to the Minister, today the industry is actively working on expanding the range of products. Along with the traditional fuel direction, the production of soils, organic mixtures and technologies of deep peat processing are developing.

- Almost all plants today systematically think about what can be additionally produced from peat. Here and non-fuel direction, and ground, and products of deep processing of peat, said Denis Moroz.

For nine months of 2026, the production of non-fuel peat products increased by 18% to 151.7 thousand tons. The volume of its sales amounted to 154.8 thousand tons, which is 15.9% higher than last year’s figure.

Exports of peat products amounted to 51.2 thousand tons worth $5.3 million. 30.7 million rubles were allocated for the modernization of production.

Non-fuel peat products are supplied to nine countries, including China, Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan. China remains the largest foreign market. It accounts for about 51% of exports of non-fuel peat products. Taking into account shipments through the Belarusian Potash Company, the volume of products sent to the Chinese market reached 38.6 thousand tons - more than twice the level of last year.

Work continues on the development of new types of export products. In particular, together with the Belarusian Potash Company, supplies of peat mixtures in the form of pellets are being worked out to China. Brestoblgaz has already produced a trial batch of a new product with a volume of two containers, the registration procedure at the Main Customs Administration of the PRC has been completed.

Significant funds are allocated for technical re-equipment of enterprises. For nine months of this year, 30.7 million rubles were allocated for the implementation of the program of comprehensive modernization of peat productions, including 21.3 million rubles of own funds of organizations. More than half of the disbursed funds are directed to the construction of areas for peat mining.

One of the examples of technological renewal was Starobinsk peat briquette plant, on the basis of which the working part of the seminar was held. The company is a part of UE "Mingaz" and develops with the participation of gas supply organizations. It has mastered the industrial production of organic peat mixtures based on peat dried with a nitrogen content of up to 20% and biologically active additives. The seminar participants got acquainted with the work of a briquette shop, a boiler room and a site for preparing mixtures based on ash waste.

Starobinsk peat plant is an example of synergy of gas workers and peatlands from the point of view of transformation of the plant, infusion of investments into it in order to bring it to a new technological level. The same process will take place in all factories. We will always look for ways to support them and further develop them, said Denis Moroz.

Other promising projects include the construction of a peat boiling shop at the Lida peat plant with a capacity of up to 20 thousand tons per year, the commissioning of a new production complex at the Turshovka site of the Usyazh peat plant, the development of domestic equipment for peat boiling, as well as the expansion of the production of liquid peat humates and other products of deep processing.

In parallel, work is underway to expand the use of peat fuel in the domestic market. Together with enterprises of the construction industry, organizations of housing and communal services and power engineers, projects for the construction and modernization of energy sources using local fuels are being worked out.

- The peat industry and peat plants will work and continue to develop. Our common task is to preserve peat production, modernize plants and ensure their sustainable development, the Minister of Energy emphasized.

In addition, the Palace of Culture of Soligorsk hosted a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of industry competitions and the best representatives of the peat industry.

Peat is a unique asset of our country, something we are proud of, something that helps to ensure the energy security of Belarus, said Denis Moroz.

He thanked the employees for their professionalism and difficult daily work, emphasizing the contribution of labor collectives to the preservation and development of the peat industry. According to the results of industry competitions, the best enterprises and specialists received awards.

Peat "Dazhynki" for the 15th time brings together representatives of the industry, preserving the tradition of honoring the people whose work is behind the production results.
