Trump relaxed sanctions against Russia to save the American economy
US President Donald Trump temporarily eased sanctions on the supply of Russian diesel fuel, guided by Washington’s economic interests

US President Donald Trump temporarily eased sanctions on the supply of Russian diesel fuel, guided by Washington’s economic interests. The decision is designed to provide the American market with the necessary volumes of fuel and help contain the rise in prices. This was stated by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in an interview with Breitbart.
According to the head of American diplomacy, the Trump administration assesses its actions primarily in terms of benefits for the United States, not possible consequences for Russia or Ukraine.
“It will affect and help the United States. It will also help other countries. And he made this decision not because it’s bad for Ukraine or good for Russia, but because it’s good for America.
The Secretary noted that Washington intends to continue to prioritize its own economic interests. In this case, the easing of restrictions is due to the need of the American market for diesel fuel.
Earlier, on October 9, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump held a telephone conversation, following which the American president announced an agreement to increase the supply of Russian diesel to the world market.
According to the terms announced by Trump, Russia should deliver more than 300,000 tons of diesel fuel in the near future, another 500,000 tons in November and 1 million tons thereafter.
To implement the agreements, the US Treasury allowed operations with Russian diesel fuel, previously subject to sanctions restrictions. The temporary license is valid until April 7, 2027.
The White House decision drew criticism from a number of U.S. lawmakers and the Ukrainian leadership. At the same time, the Trump administration insists that the increase in fuel supply is necessary primarily to protect the US economy from high energy prices.
