Trump: US Will Soon Capture Half of Global Chip Market

The U.S. could soon take over nearly half of the global semiconductor market. This forecast was voiced by US President Donald Trump during a speech to voters in North Carolina.

Donald Trump announced the intention of the United States to significantly increase its share in the global chip market. According to the American president, the figure will soon approach 50%.

Earlier, US Commerce Secretary Howard Latnick proposed to move to the US territory the production of half of the chips that are planned to be supplied to the United States from Taiwan.

However, the authorities of the island opposed this initiative. Taiwan’s Deputy Prime Minister Zheng Lijun said Taiwan would not agree to the proposed terms.
