Tula plants have invested 30 billion rubles in eco-saving technologies
From 2015 to 2025, industrial enterprises of the Tula region allocated about 30 billion rubles for technical re-equipment and modernization

From 2015 to 2025, industrial enterprises of the Tula region allocated about 30 billion rubles for technical re-equipment and modernization. Updating equipment and introducing modern technologies help companies reduce their environmental impact and comply with environmental requirements, the press service of the regional government told MK in Tula.
The implementation of environmental measures is monitored by the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Ecology of the Tula region. According to the head of the department Oksana Vekhina, the enterprises of the region are consistently updating production capacities to improve environmental safety. She stressed that investments and already completed works create conditions for reducing the negative impact of industry on nature.
One example of such modernization is Etalon from Plavsk. This is one of three enterprises in Russia, where since 1951 they have preserved the traditional technology of malt alcohol production.
Since 2015, the plant has been carrying out environmental activities. Automation of boilers and modernization of aspiration systems have significantly reduced emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere. In addition, the company regularly checks the quality of wastewater and monitors the air condition in the sanitary protection zone to monitor compliance with environmental standards.
An important stage was the construction of a workshop for processing bards - waste alcohol production. The project was completed last year: the equipment was installed, connected to technological pipelines and put into operation. Thanks to this, the production cycle was closed: waste that previously required separate treatment is now processed into demanded products. It also reduced the amount of discharges.
Work to reduce the environmental burden continues. Next year, Etalon plans to complete the reclamation of the barda filtrate sediment. As a city-forming enterprise of Plava district, the company modernizes production, striving to combine economic efficiency with compliance with environmental requirements.
At the end of July, MK in Tula reported that 22 of the 50 largest enterprises in the region are implementing environmental projects. This was stated by the head of the administration of Tula Ilya Bespalov after discussing the environmental modernization of the industry at an operational meeting in the regional government. Another 12 companies received comprehensive environmental permits confirming compliance with the established requirements. The work of other companies remains under control.
