Tourist from China spent in Moscow 12 thousand yuan and was surprised by the prices
A month in Moscow cost a tourist from China 12 thousand yuan — about 150 thousand rubles

A month in Moscow cost a tourist from China 12 thousand yuan — about 150 thousand rubles. He spent more than half of that money on housing. The trip changed his view of Russia as a country where one could live on several thousand yuan a month.
The traveler told Chinese journalists that some goods and services in Moscow were significantly more expensive than at home. At the same time, he did not name the excessively expensive Russian capital either. In his impressions, the real costs were between two extremes - the expectation of low prices and the idea of widespread high cost.
The main burden on the budget was accommodation. The tourist noted the high cost of rent and hotels. Another constant item of expenditure was the groceries for which he went daily to supermarkets.
Prices in Moscow stores, especially chain stores, seemed acceptable to him. Many more questions were raised by the service. According to the traveler, the cost of purchases did not always correspond to the level of service.
He said that he did not meet the cashiers usual demonstrative friendliness, which he compared with the “American smile” and Japanese politeness. Employees, in his opinion, performed their duties without noticeable enthusiasm. Later, he saw a similar approach in other customer service locations in Moscow.
The tourist described this model as effective, but not particularly disposed. As a result of the trip, he came to the conclusion that to understand Russia, you need at least some time to live in it.
