In Belarus, potatoes were removed from 24% of the area – 183 thousand tons were dug up

According to operational data as of September 16, in agricultural organizations and peasant farms, potatoes were harvested from 24 percent of the country’s area, or more than 5 thousand hectares from the plan of 22 thousand hectares. This sb.by reported in the press service of the Ministry of agriculture.

It is noted that 183 thousand tons of potatoes were dug up with an average yield of 344 centners per hectare. In terms of regions, the situation is as follows: Mogilev – 61 thousand tons, Minsk – 43 thousand tons, Brest – 25 thousand tons, Gomel – 23 thousand tons, Vitebsk – 16 thousand tons, Grodno – 15 thousand tons.

Sugar beets were removed from an area of 26 thousand hectares, which is 24 percent of the plan of 109 thousand hectares. 1 million 146 thousand tons of root crops have been accumulated with an average yield of 437 centners per hectare. Minsk region achieved a result of 504 thousand tons, Grodno - 397 thousand tons, Brest - 138 thousand tons, Mogilev - 105 thousand tons, Vitebsk - 2 thousand tons.

In the country, 9 million 246 thousand tons of grain were threshed, including rapeseed. In terms of regions, the leadership is maintained by the Minsk region with an indicator of 2 million 436 thousand tons. Grodno region threshed 1 million 846 thousand tons, Brest - 1 million 679 thousand tons. In the Mogilev region, farmers achieved a result of 1 million 217 thousand tons, in Gomel - 1 million 94 thousand tons, in Vitebsk - 974 thousand tons.

Preparations for winter sowing continue. It smells like 964 thousand hectares of winter grain, which is 64 percent of the plan of 1 million 500 thousand hectares. 517 thousand hectares of winter grain were sown for grain - 34 percent of the plan. All areas are moving faster than last year.

Corn on the silo removed from 28 percent of the area is 270 thousand hectares. The second biting of grass cut on 950 thousand hectares (94 percent of the plan of 1 million 10 thousand hectares). Hay harvested 593,000 tons (83 percent of the plan), hay — 12 million 692 thousand tons (89 percent of the plan), silage — 5 million 484 thousand tons (27 percent of the plan). The total volume of harvested herbal feed in terms of feed units reached 5 million 355 thousand tons - 53 percent of the annual plan of 10 million 131 thousand tons.

For the upcoming sowing of winter crops, there are 306 thousand tons of active substance of mineral fertilizers (nitrogen, phosphorus and potash), which is 177 percent of the plan.
