Agrarians of the Brest region to date, October 14, dug up more than 500 thousand tons of sugar beet. The yield of sweet root crops in the southwestern region is not yet the highest - at the level of 415 centners per hectare. In total, 56 percent of the area was removed, the correspondent of sb.by reports.

In 2026, in most of the Brest region, sugar beets fell under a prolonged drought, which continued in the autumn period. Therefore, the crop added little to the yield. The rains that began at the end of last week may have some effect on the results in areas where the sweet root has not yet been dug. In the eastern and northern regions, the return is quite decent - at the level of 520-600 centners per hectare.
Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Food of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Anatoly Shchuplenkov said that the highest yield of sugar beet in the Baranovichi district is 611 centners per hectare.
He noted:
- In Lakhovichi farms, it is 587 centners per hectare. As in the Baranovichi district, where 47.7 percent of the area was excavated. About 41 percent of sugar beet was harvested in the Pruzhan district, its yield is at the level of 524 centners per hectare.
Anatoly Shchuplenkov specified that the sugar content of root vegetables in the region reached 16.57 percent. 442.5 thousand tons of crop were exported to beet receiving points, or 87.4 percent of the dug up. Cleaning is carried out in accordance with the schedule agreed with the processor - JSC "Zhabinkovsk sugar plant".
