In the Mogilev region, sugar beets are harvested on 63% of the area: yield exceeds 447 c / ha

In the Mogilev region, the harvesting of sugar beets continues. 63 percent of the planned area has already been excavated. In total, 12.1 thousand hectares are to be cleaned, 7790 hectares have been excavated. In the region, agricultural enterprises and farms of 11 districts are engaged in the cultivation of sugar beet. This was reported by sb.by in the department of intensification of crop production and melioration of the Committee on Agriculture and Food of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee.

The average yield of sugar beet this season in the region is 447.6 centners per hectare, last year, by the way, the figures were slightly lower - 420 centners per hectare. It is planned that the harvesting of beets will continue throughout November. After cleaning, sugar beets are taken to beets. In the Mogilev region, such points are located in Osipovichi, Gorki, Dribin and Mogilev. In Osipovichi, for example, now there is an active shipment of the root crop to OJSC Slutsk Sugar and Finish Plant.

The head of the Osipovichi beet center Mikhail Berezovsky said that beets come to them from two districts of the Mogilev region - Osipovichi and Bobruisk, and from two Gomel - Rogachevsky and Zhlobinsky:

- Such geography is convenient for logistics, root crops are brought to us from nearby beet farms. The shoulder is about 140 kilometers, these are the most distant farms of the Zhlobinsky district, and so on average 100 kilometers. Slutsk combine concludes contracts with private organizations that are engaged in the transportation of beets, as well as with agricultural enterprises and farmers.

The general plan for harvesting beets at the Osipovichi beet point this season is 120 thousand tons. A day here take about 2-2.5 thousand tons of beets. After delivery of the root crop to the beet point, part goes for shipment to wagons and shipment by rail to Slutsk, part remains in storage to ensure its rhythmic delivery to the plant.

- Cars arrive, we load them with three loaders and send them to the factory. This is a daily shipment, about 1-1.5 thousand tons per day. We also act including the point where beets are stored, so as not to load the factory area. We can store about 25 thousand tons of beets. Last year, about 136 thousand tons were accepted, at the same time about 19 thousand tons were stored. Beets are stored in kagats – special temporary burts, says Mikhail Berezovsky. We bookmark it when the average daily temperature is set below 10 degrees. If the temperature is higher, the root vegetable may begin to rot. Last year we started laying about October 3, this season a little later – from October 8. The most important thing is that the beets should be processed before processing.

Mikhail Berezovsky notes that agricultural enterprises are interested in beets as a culture, many expand the area under it, farmers are also included in the work. The plant, in turn, supports farmers - allocates seeds, toxic chemicals, trace elements, equipment for harvesting root crops.
