In the Volgograd region, the labor force amounted to 1289.8 thousand people

According to the results of a sample study conducted in the Volgograd region from June to August 2026, the total number of persons aged 15 years and older attributable to the labor force reached 1289.8 thousand people. Of this number, 78.8% of the population lives in cities, while 21.2% live in rural areas, according to Volgogradstat.
Analyzing the gender composition of the labor force, it was found that men make up 52.9% and women 47.1%.
It should be noted that the participation rate of men in the labour force is higher than that of women. In the region as a whole, the level of labor involvement is 62.0%.
To clarify, the level of participation in the labor force means the percentage ratio of the number of persons of a certain age category that are part of the labor force to the total population of the same age category.
