In 2026-2029 in the Yaroslavl region plan to introduce less housing than in previous years

In 2026-2029 in the Yaroslavl region plan to introduce less housing than in previous years. This follows from the forecast of socio-economic development of the region for 2027-2029.
The decrease is expected already in 2026: the projected volume of housing commissioning is 710 thousand square meters against 938.6 thousand square meters in 2025. Thus, the figure will reach about 75.6% of last year’s level.
In 2027, the volume of new housing, according to different scenarios of the forecast, will be from 510 to 565 thousand square meters. In the next two years, a gradual recovery is expected: in 2028 and 2029, housing construction may increase by 1-3% annually.
A similar trend is predicted in the segment of individual housing construction. In 2026, it is planned to build 394 thousand square meters here - 65.9% of the previous year. For 2027, there are two options: 203 thousand or 245 thousand square meters. After that, a small increase in volumes is expected.
Earlier, the acting mayor Nikolai Stepanov also spoke about a possible reduction in housing construction in Yaroslavl. One of the reasons he called changes in the Water Code, after the entry into force of which restrictions on new construction affected almost a quarter of the city's territory - about five thousand hectares.
