The reason for the criminal prosecution was posts on Sergei Udaltsov’s Telegram channel, on the Left Front website and in the Free Press publication in 2023 in support of members of the Marxist circle from Ufa.
In December 2025, the participants of the circle were sentenced to imprisonment for terms from 16 to 22 years. They were found guilty of creating and participating in a terrorist community and preparing a violent seizure of power.
