“Digital Apocalypse” November 17: hackers promise to zero accounts, but experts advise not to panic
In social networks again walks the horror story about the end of the world, only this time – digital

In social networks again there is a horror story about the end of the world, only this time – digital. Users are sending messages that the “digital apocalypse” will come on November 17. Allegedly, on this day, hackers from the darknet will conduct a large-scale attack: break into banks, destroy data on all accounts, crash the world economy and shut down the Internet for three months.
Sounds like the plot of a Hollywood blockbuster, but many have already begun to prepare for survival: buying cash, gold, weapons and canned goods.
Where did the rumor come from?
Journalists of the newspaper Baza found out the origins of the panic. It all started with a post on X (formerly Twitter). One user claimed to have received an insider from an anonymous source on the shadow network. However, there is a caveat: the author of the confession immediately wrote that he has no evidence, and the information, most likely, should be perceived as a fake or a joke.
But the Internet is the Internet: the warning broke out of context and spread through chat rooms as the ultimate truth. Cyber security experts are reassuring: there is no evidence of a global attack. So it is too early to do stew stocks, and it is better to keep money not under the mattress, but on verified accounts.
