“Youth and Professionalism”: the mentor of the Smolensk “IT-Cuba” Roman Vyatoshin presented to the departmental award of the Ministry of Education of Russia

The teacher of additional education of the Center for digital education of children “IT-cube” (structural division of OGBPOU SOTA) Roman Andreevich Vyatoshin was presented to the departmental breastplate of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation “Youth and Professionalism”.

This award is a recognition of his unique path: before joining education in 2021, he went from deputy to technical director in the private IT sector, bringing real industrial cases to the education of children. Today, Roman Andreevich has the first qualification category and instructs students in the areas of “Development of VR / AR applications”, “Fundamentals of programming” and “Robotics”.

Pupils of Roman Vyatoshin regularly take prizes at the largest competitions. They became the winners of the hackathons “Zarad” (2023, 2025), “Window in VR” (2023), “Prepare for the First Developer” (2025) and the All-Russian hackathon “Reboot” (2026). They were also winners of the FEVRART championships (2024, 2025) and the final of the 3D-Modeller competition (2025), and also reached the final of the All-Russian series “I Learn”. Designing. Programming. Future, ProVR and the contest “VR tag on the map of Russia”.

In 2025, Roman Andreevich became the winner of the regional stage of the Master of the Year competition, the winner of the hackathon for mentors from MGBot and the All-Russian Quantum Code competition, and also received a Letter of Thanks from the Governor of the Smolensk Region.

The teacher is described as an innovator with deep practical competencies who knows how to find an approach to each child.
