Minchanin robbed a neighbor in the hostel and tried to rob a woman on the street

The 58-year-old previously repeatedly convicted citizen, who was accused of committing theft and attempted robbery, told the correspondent of the agency “Minsk-Novosti” in the Prosecutor’s office of Pervomaysky district.

Then the defendant went to his room and saw that the friend was sleeping while intoxicated. Taking advantage of this, the attacker searched his bag and stole 900 BYN from it, which he spent on personal needs.

Also on the street. Slavinsky accused tried to snatch from the hands of a passer-by bag. However, the woman, firmly holding her property, began to loudly call for help and fight off the robber with a package. He got scared and fled into the yards.

The suspect was detained, another criminal case was opened against him. He did not deny guilt in the court hearing in the incriminated crimes. Regarding the attempted robbery, he explained that, being drunk, he allegedly mistaken the victim for his wife, whom he wanted to help bring the bag home.

- The accused has a secondary education, he worked as a janitor in one of the municipal organizations, has a dependent minor child, previously nine times was brought to criminal responsibility, including for committing property crimes, said Kristina Prishchepova, assistant prosecutor of the Pervomaysky district, who acted as a state prosecutor in the criminal case. The court found him guilty of committing crimes under Part 2 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code (theft committed repeatedly) and Part 1 of Art. 14, Part 2 of Art. 206 of the Criminal Code (attempted robbery committed repeatedly), and appointed the final punishment in the form of three years of imprisonment, which the accused will spend in a correctional colony under strict regime.
