Ate pies, drank milk: a man stole a bag from a pensioner

The capital pensioner bought tickets for the train before the summer cottage and accidentally left her shopping bag near the cash desk. It was noticed and appropriated by a man who was in Minsk passing, reports the correspondent of the agency “Minsk-Novosti” with reference to the Telegram channel “Minsk Police”.

Discovering the disappearance, an 80-year-old woman turned to the police.

The operatives of the criminal investigation of the Minsk police station on transport quickly came on the trail of the kidnapper. It turned out to be a 46-year-old resident of the Krupsky district. He admitted that he saw an unattended thing and decided to take it away. In the bag, the man found food: pies and milk, which he consumed. Another valuable find was the mobile phone. The thief pulled out a SIM card to use the gadget as his own. Other items, including medication, were thrown away by the kidnapper.

A criminal case has been opened for theft. The items seized from the suspect will be returned to the mistress.

The police remind that it is forbidden to appropriate unattended other people's belongings: this is theft and entails punishment up to 3 years in prison.
