Police seized a rifle and 126 rounds of ammunition from a villager in the Ryazan region

In the village of Mshanka, Skopina district, police officers stopped illegal possession of weapons. Criminal investigation officers of the inter-municipal department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “Skopinsky” detained a 46-year-old local resident, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Ryazan region reported.

During the inspection of the utility room, the police found a rifle caliber 5.6 mm and 126 rounds. The examination confirmed that the weapon is suitable for shooting, despite the absence of the butt and forearm, which decayed from dampness.

A few years ago, a man found a rifle in the woods and decided to keep it for himself. Cartridges of 5.6 mm caliber remained in the house after the death of his father.

A criminal case was initiated against the man under Part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, according to which punishment is provided for up to 5 years of imprisonment.
