The Volgograd Regional Court recognized the verdict of the Central District Court of Volgograd against the 39-year-old lawyer as lawful, leaving the sentence unchanged. V1.ru writes about it.

According to the materials of the case, in September last year, the lawyer deceived the partner of his client. Under the pretext of transferring a bribe to law enforcement officers to reclassify the case for a less serious article and changing the preventive measure, he took a total of seven million rubles from the woman (first two million, and then demanded another five). In fact, the lawyer did not intend to transfer the money to investigators, planning to spend it as he saw fit.

On September 22 last year, the man was detained with red-handed officers of the FSB of Russia in the region while receiving part of the amount.

on july 14 this year, the district court found him guilty of attempted fraud on an especially large scale and sentenced him to four years and six months in prison in a general regime correctional colony.

The defense tried to challenge the decision, stating that the punishment was excessively severe, but the appeal instance agreed with the arguments of the prosecutor's office and upheld the sentence.
