The story with a false call to the police in the Okulovsky district ended for a local resident T administrative fine, the press service of the courts of the Novgorod region reported.

On the evening of June 8, 2026, while at home, a woman called the duty station and reported that a neighbor was beating his wife. The only problem was that nothing like that actually happened.

The action of the joker qualified as a deliberately false call to the police. For such a violation, the law provides for a fine from one to one and a half thousand rubles. When it came to the magistrate of Court District 16, the woman fully admitted her guilt. The judge considered this remorse as a mitigating circumstance and delivered a relatively mild verdict. The deceiver was found guilty, but assigned her the minimum possible punishment - a fine of one thousand rubles.
