Sentenced 40-year-old citizen, who was accused of embezzlement of property, told the correspondent of the Agency “Minsk-Novosti” in the Prosecutor’s office of Pervomaysky district.

The accused in March 2026 was employed in the point of delivery of orders of one of the marketplaces. A month later, without explanation, he stopped going to work, and then there was a shortage of goods. Among them were headphones, a soldering station with a hairdryer, a mobile phone case, an engraver, a router, men's sneakers. The attacker ordered them and took them without payment.

In addition, he took a smartphone from the director to fix it, but never returned it. The total amount of damage caused was 584.49 BYN.

A criminal case was opened against the dishonest employee. In court, he fully admitted guilt, repented of what he had done, and voluntarily compensated for the damage.

- The accused single, is self-employed, has previously had problems with the law, commented the assistant prosecutor of the Pervomaysky district Christina Prishchepova, who acted as the state prosecutor in this criminal case. The court found him guilty of embezzlement of property by the person to whom it is entrusted, and on the basis of part 1 of article. 211 The Criminal Code imposed a punishment of one year of restriction of freedom without sending to an open-type correctional institution, without a fine, with deprivation of the right to hold positions related to accounting, storage and release of material values for three years. In addition, the accused must undergo compulsory treatment for chronic alcoholism.

The sentence has not entered into legal force, can be appealed and challenged in the manner prescribed by law.
