Severe clogged collector appeared in the satellite city of Minsk — clogged almost 500 m of sewerage

A large-scale blockage of the sewer network was formed in the center of Smolevichy - sewage penetrated into the basement of the local House of Culture and kindergarten. Blame all thrown into the toilets wet wipes, according to the correspondent of the Agency “Minsk-Novosti”.

The problem came up the other day. Utilities on September 9 began cleaning sewage networks to restore their normal operation. This was reported by the Telegram channel “Smolevichi | News”. The plot was clogged almost 500 meters, after which sewage ended up in the basements of the above-mentioned social facilities.

To cope with the “mud monster”, used special equipment. However, a lot of work was done manually. So, from the well in one evening removed a dozen buckets of garbage and more than 200 kg of napkins, which were kept. They, along with the rags, provided the sewer collapse. According to experts, if the measures taken do not allow to get rid of the traffic jam, it will remain to dig up the territory, and the collectors lie at a depth of 5 m. Such work can take at least a month.

Citizens were urged not to throw into the toilets any wet wipes, diapers, or rags, as they do not dissolve in water. This creates the risk of such accidents.
