In Mari El, the court recognized the right of a labor veteran to privatize departmental housing
Zvenihiv district court satisfied the claim of a resident of the village to the local administration for recognition of ownership of the service apartment.

Since 1989, the plaintiff lives in the village of Krasnogorsky, having received housing under a warrant from the Electromotor plant. For a long time, privatization was blocked due to confusion in the documents: the papers listed apartment number 20, while in fact the woman occupied the room number 19.
Although in 2014 and 2025, the authorities issued orders to correct the address, the object was never entered in the municipal register, and the privatization case was not initiated.
According to the law on the privatization of housing stock and the position of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, the liquidation or reorganization of the enterprise does not cancel the right of an employee to receive housing for free. Since neither the administration nor the plant objected to the claim, the claims were satisfied in full. The decision has already entered into legal force.
The joint press service of the Mari El courts explained that technical errors in the address or a change of owner of the building cannot serve as a legal basis for refusing privatization. In such cases, citizens have the right to defend their interests through the courts.
