In Minsk, friends figured out how to make money quickly, but the plan failed

A criminal case has been sent to the court against a 42-year-old citizen and her 33-year-old friend who are accused of theft, the Central District Prosecutor’s Office told the Minsk-Novosti correspondent.

Around noon, the accused called an acquaintance and reported that she had quarreled with her husband. Friends met at the Komarovsk market. After communicating, they found out that both are in an unenviable financial situation, and decided to steal alcohol from the store, and then sell it.

Then they went to the shopping center on the street. Storozhovskaya. There, having looked around and made sure that no one was watching them, the attackers took expensive alcohol from the rack and, hiding the bottles in a paper bag from a fast food restaurant and a bag, left. The kidnapped friends were sold at the Komarovsk market.

After the defendants returned to the same store and in the same scenario stole more alcohol products. In total, they stole nine bottles of cognac and whiskey worth 717.74 BYN.

The next day, the suspects were detained, criminal proceedings were opened against them.

- The defendants are not officially employed anywhere, they have already had problems with the law, commented Viktor Shubich, Deputy Prosecutor of the Central District. They were charged with secret theft of property (theft), committed by a group of persons, that is, in a crime under Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code, the sanction of which is up to four years in prison. The citizens fully acknowledged the guilt, repented of what they had done, the damage caused to the outlet was not compensated. In respect of each of them, a preventive measure was applied in the form of a subscription not to leave and proper behavior.
