The owner of the bar strangled the lover and took the body to the mountains
In Japan, 36-year-old bar owner Takuyu Miuru re-arrested on suspicion of murder of 25-year-old cohabitant Maho Muroga

In Japan, 36-year-old bar owner Taku Miuru was re-arrested on suspicion of murdering 25-year-old cohabitant Maho Muroga. The body of the girl was found in the mountains of Miyagi Prefecture, more than 300 kilometers from Tokyo.
Earlier, the man was charged with concealing the remains of the deceased. The new arrest was reported on October 28 by the Kobe Shimbun newspaper, citing the Metropolitan Police.
According to investigators, the tragedy occurred on September 28 in the apartment of the couple in the Tokyo district of Nerima. Police believe that the man squeezed the girl’s neck, causing her to suffocate. The cause of death was established during a forensic examination.
Muroga's disappearance became known on September 30, when her mother contacted the police. The woman said she could not contact her daughter. The last contact with the girl took place on the evening of September 27.
During the investigation, the police found that on the morning of September 28, Miura went by car to Miyagi Prefecture. Examining surveillance camera records and mobile phone data helped restore his movements.
On October 4, in the mountainous area of the city of Kurihara, near Lake Hanayama, investigators found the body of the missing woman. The girl was near the road, she was wearing clothes, and the upper part of the body was covered with a plastic bag. The initial inspection did not reveal any noticeable external damage.
On October 5, the owner of the bar was detained on suspicion of concealing the body. He was subsequently charged accordingly.
During the investigation, it turned out that the couple’s relationship was repeatedly accompanied by conflicts. Since March 2026, a man and a woman have gone to the police on a total of four occasions due to quarrels and violence. Law enforcement officers conducted preventive interviews with them, and materials on one of the episodes of alleged bodily harm by Miura were sent to prosecutors. Despite the conflicts, the couple resumed their relationship and continued to live together.
Additional suspicions were caused by messages sent from the phone of the deceased. According to Japanese media, on the morning of September 28, when the man was allegedly transporting the body to Miyagi, reports were received from the mobile girl about her intention to return to her parents. Investigators were checking the version of an attempt to create the appearance that the woman remained alive.
In addition, security cameras near the house recorded how Miura, after returning from a trip in the early morning of September 29, unloaded a large suitcase from the car. Police said it could have been used to transport the body.
The suspect himself denies premeditated murder. According to Kobe Shimbun, during the interrogation, he stated that he never intended to kill his partner.
