Volga court has recovered from the resident of the Volgograd region damage for illegal hunting
The Committee of Natural Resources, Forestry and Ecology of the region appealed to the court with a claim to the violator for compensation for damage caused to hunting resources

Volga city court of the Volgograd region recovered from the local resident damage for illegal hunting of pheasant.
As reported in the joint press service of the courts of the Volgograd region, in support of the claim, the plaintiff indicated that in May 2026, a local resident on the territory of the hunting ground “Tractorosavodskoe” moved by his own car and carried out transportation of illegally obtained pheasant without permission to extract hunting resources. For this offense, by the decision of the committee, he was brought to administrative responsibility under part 1 of Article 8.37 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation with a fine of 4 thousand rubles.
At the same time, property damage from the destruction of one pheasant individual is calculated in accordance with Article 56 of the Federal Law "On the Animal World" on the basis of the methodology for calculating the amount of harm approved by order of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia from 08.12.2011 No. 948, and is 10 thousand rubles.
In the summer of 2026, a proposal for voluntary compensation was sent to the defendant, but it remained without satisfaction. The court found that the basis for compensation for damage is not the fact of illegal hunting, but the resulting damage to objects of the animal world in the form of death or injury to animals. The calculation of the damage was verified and recognized mathematically correct, the defendant did not provide evidence of compensation.
By the decision of the Volga City Court, a resident of the Volga region was recovered 10 thousand rubles for compensation to the state. The decision has not entered into force and can be appealed on appeal.
