A student of Voronezh State University who stabbed a neighbor was released
Both students studied at the Faculty of Geography, Geoecology and Tourism of VSU

On November 6, the Kominternovsky District Court of Voronezh found a 24-year-old native of the Belgorod region Danil Bryantsev guilty of murdering a 23-year-old roommate in a VSU hostel. The young man was appointed two years in prison, but he was released from the courtroom: the term spent in jail was counted as punishment, RIA Voronezh reports.
According to the court, both students studied at the Faculty of Geography, Geoecology and Tourism of VSU, lived on Kholzunov Street and previously maintained friendly relations. The conflict between them occurred in May 2025. According to the convict, on May 22, he quarreled with a neighbor because of his thesis: he expected help, but was dissatisfied. The next day the quarrel continued. After another skirmish, Bryantsev took a knife from the nightstand and hit his neighbor in the chest, and when he tried to run out, struck several more blows.
Thinking that the neighbor died, the young man changed his clothes and left. He managed to buy a bus ticket, but on the way he realized what had happened, went to the nearest stop and turned himself in to the police.
Initially, Bryantsev was charged with murder, and the prosecutor asked to appoint him nine years of strict regime. The defendant pleaded guilty and repented. The defense insisted on reclassifying the charge of murder in a state of affect, referring to the conclusion of the Serbsky Center. Experts came to the conclusion that the young man acted in a state of cumulative affect caused by a prolonged psychotraumatic situation. The court agreed with that position.
