Kursk resident detained for discrediting Russian Armed Forces

In Kursk, the investigation incriminates Oleg P. intentional distribution on the Internet of video materials discrediting the Armed Forces of Russia and the legality of the special operation.

The actions of the accused are qualified under the article on the public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (p. “d” part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

According to the decision of the Leninsky district court of Kursk, the man was selected a measure of restraint in the form of detention. The term of detention will be 1 month 29 days, until January 1, 2027. The decision can be appealed, the press service of the courts of the Kursk region said.

This crime is punishable by a fine of 3 to 5 million rubles, forced labor up to 5 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions, or imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years with a similar restriction.
