A resident of Yuryev-Polish caught on fraud when receiving payments

In the city of Yuryev-Polish, an attempt to embezzle public funds on an especially large scale was stopped.

According to the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a 38-year-old local resident became involved in a criminal case of attempted fraud in receiving social payments.

According to law enforcement officers, the woman appealed to the Department of social protection of the population with an application for the provision of one-time financial assistance for her minor child. In the package of documents, she deliberately entered false information in order to meet the criteria of recipients. The amount of assistance requested exceeded 1 million rubles and was intended for a strictly defined preferential category, to which the suspect did not belong.

An attempt at illicit enrichment was identified during the verification phase. Social security officers, together with police officers, established a forgery, as a result of which funds were denied.

A criminal case has been opened, the investigation into the circumstances of the incident continues.
