Belarus will offer projects in the areas of transport, energy and digitalization to the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). This was discussed at the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov with the President of the AIIB Zou Jiai in New Delhi, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

In the Indian capital, Maxim Ryzhenkov took part in the open meeting of the BRICS Summit “Sustainability, Innovation, Cooperation and Long-term Development: Shaping the Future for Inclusive Global Growth”. On the sidelines of the summit, Maxim Ryzhenkov held several meetings, the central of which was a conversation with Zou Jiai.
“The minister congratulated the interlocutor on taking office and noted that the lifting of sanctions previously imposed by the US on a number of Belarusian organizations, including restrictions by the US Treasury Department, removes barriers to full-scale cooperation and opens up opportunities for the implementation of new AIIB projects in Belarus,” the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Maxim Ryzhenkov stressed that the Belarusian side is ready to submit infrastructure projects under its mandate in the areas of transport, energy, healthcare, education and digitalization for consideration of the bank, to consider various financing options, as well as other forms of interaction with this influential banking structure.
The Foreign Minister also met with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Chairman of the Executive Council of the emirate Khaled bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyudi. The interlocutors discussed the implementation of the most important investment projects with the participation of Emirati capital in Belarus, noting the positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation in all areas. The Emirati side, in turn, confirmed its interest in expanding its investment presence in our country, the ministry said.
In line with the development of practical cooperation between Belarus and the World Health Organization (WHO), Maxim Ryzhenkov met with the Director General of the organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who expressed his intention to visit Belarus to familiarize himself with national approaches to medical care for citizens, exchange experience in certain areas of medical care and more in-depth study of other Belarusian practices of interest to WHO.
