Belarus calls for strengthening international coordination against human trafficking
At the session of the UN Human Rights Council, Belarus proposed to unite the efforts of states and businesses to combat human trafficking and the risks of using digital technologies.

Belarus calls for strengthening international coordination in the fight against trafficking in persons. This was stated by the Permanent Representative of the Republic to the UN Office in Geneva Larisa Belskaya during the 63rd session of the Human Rights Council.
Speaking at an interactive dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on modern forms of slavery, the diplomat stressed that Minsk considers this work as a priority of international cooperation, enshrined in the UN Global Action Plan.
Belarus shares the report's assessment and proposes to strengthen counteraction to trafficking in supply chains, as well as to reduce the risks of using ICTs to recruit victims. To this end, she called on governments and the private sector to join forces, develop digital literacy and take into account the relevant resolutions of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention for 2023 and 2026. In conclusion, she noted the readiness of Minsk to work with all interested countries to develop solutions for the prevention and suppression of human trafficking.
