During the chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Uzbekistan will focus on the economy, science, human development and other issues that give tangible results. This was stated by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the CIS summit, BelTA writes.

From January 1, 2027, Uzbekistan will chair the Commonwealth of Independent States. Shavkat Mirziyoyev thanked his colleagues for supporting this decision.
“For us, the chairmanship of the Commonwealth means, first of all, an opportunity to contribute to our common work, to propose new ideas and jointly promote those areas that are really important for our countries. Next year we intend to focus on issues that give a clear and tangible result, he said.
Among such issues, the President of Uzbekistan identified the economy, new technologies, transport, security, education, science and human development.
Focusing on the economy, the President of Uzbekistan proposed to focus on industrial cooperation: “Our countries have serious production capabilities, resources, technologies and markets. If you combine this potential, create joint production and build sustainable supply chains, the result will be much more visible to all participants.”.
The Uzbek side plans to pay special attention to the development of industrial cooperation and improvement of conditions for mutual investments. At the same time, the elimination of barriers that hinder trade between countries is of particular importance, Shavkat Mirziyoyev added.
To be completed.
