That is our principled position. Secreta told which countries can join the Eurasian Charter

The Charter is conceived as an inclusive document and we do not set any political, ideological or civilizational filters. Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Secreta said this in an interview with the Hungarian Internet portal Moszkvater, the text of which is published on the website of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

Igor Secreta emphasized:

- We're open to everyone. That is our principled position. The Charter is conceived as an inclusive document and we do not set any political, ideological or civilizational filters. Geographically, Eurasia stretches from Lisbon to Manila, and all states in that space, including European members of the EU and NATO, have the right to participate if they so choose. Many analysts and representatives of the Western academic community are present at the Minsk conferences. We welcome that.

According to the deputy minister, a dialogue cannot be complete if it is conducted only in one circle:

The question is, will the Western countries participate? I must say that in recent years, along with the traditional wariness on their part, we are increasingly hearing questions, we see growing interest and readiness to discuss issues of interest. Our door was and remains open.

At the same time, Igor Secreta explained how this format relates to other platforms of the Global South, such as BRICS, SCO or the Eurasian Economic Union:

- All of them, despite their different legal status and diversity of mandates, are in fact in favor of a just multipolar world, a new architecture of international and regional security and a new system of economic relations. They all express the will and opinion of the global majority. It is important to understand the differences. The SCO and the EAEU are regional organizations with budgets and secretariats, with clearly defined mandates. BRICS is an informal association of countries that does not have the attributes of an international organization.

The Deputy Foreign Minister stressed that the Minsk Conference is a discussion platform that brings together representatives of governments, international organizations, the academic community and business.

- As for the Charter, it is seen as a political and legal document like the Helsinki Final Act of 1975. The Charter should not replace existing structures. Its task is to become a strategic umbrella, a common framework that will allow these structures to interact more effectively and synergistically. In the economic sphere, for example, it aims to promote the concept of “integration of integrations”. Geostrategy for a supercontinent. How the Eurasian Charter will change the security architecture
