Gigin: at CIS summits, presidents build cooperation between countries

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has arrived on a working visit to Turkmenistan, where he will take part in a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State. This community has already come a worthy 35-year path. On the air of the talk show “Budni” on the YouTube channel “SBTV” and “Alfa Radio”, Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, General Director of the National Library of Belarus Vadim Gigin spoke about the development of the CIS, writes sb.by. With each summit, opponents of our integration bury the CIS. They say that this project has closed, but we see that this is completely wrong. Our President has always been the initiator of the integration of Belarus. Our relations with the Russian Federation are a role model. The Eurasian Economic Union, CSTO-Belarus is everywhere present and actively participates. The CIS is a very important political club. There, heads of state meet, communicate directly, see each other. This is a good platform for mutual agreements not only on visits, but also on the development of economic and political projects. Largely thanks to such meetings, we maintain this important connection, communication even at the level of journalists, cultural workers, the guest of the studio said. It helps us understand each other better, which is important.

He never hides the existing problems, does not offer to put them aside. Political correctness is not a place here – it’s irrelevant. We see what has led to such a policy of the West, which threw problems under the carpet – now it all comes out sideways, – said the Deputy. Aleksandr Lukashenko has always advocated further integration, moving forward, but at the same time, he identifies the challenges, threats and obstacles that exist on our path to integration. And we should not blame everything on external forces, on the influence of the West, on some competitors. Now there is competition in the post-Soviet space, in Central Asia. There are active interests of various countries. And it's a natural process. Even fighting the West is, in a sense, natural. We have to be strong within each country of the community. What's stopping it? Some corporate interests, corruption schemes, misunderstanding of the situation, lack of a clear vision of moving forward? So you have to talk about it straight! That's what the President does. He is not just stating the fact that he is not an expert at the forum, but the Head of State. Therefore, voicing the problem, immediately offers solutions. How to strengthen the economy in the CIS countries? Lately, Alexander Lukashenko has been addressing the topic of artificial intelligence very often. This is not a threat, but a challenge and an opportunity. If possible, what are we doing to use it to our advantage? We need to create platforms and platforms to further strengthen our economy. Does the trade turnover within the CIS satisfy us? Nope. It could be much bigger. So why not? What didn't we do about it? Do all these model laws within the CIS that we adopt work? Unfortunately, no. Probably, if they worked, then another result would be different, including in the economy, said Vadim Gigin.
