Lavrov: Russia is ready for talks with Ukraine, but does not intend to pause in the SVO
Lavrov said that Moscow will not pause the fighting, as earlier such agreements have not led to a long-term settlement.

Russia is ready to discuss the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, but does not intend to suspend a special military operation for the period of negotiations. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, speaking at a meeting of the UN Security Council, RIA Novosti reports.
Russia, as President Putin has repeatedly confirmed, is ready for negotiations to achieve just and sustainable peace. However, having learned from bitter experience, we will not pause in a special military operation for the period of negotiations in any format, he said.
Lavrov stressed that Moscow is in favor of a negotiation process if its goal is to achieve a long-term and fair settlement.
According to the minister, the calls of European countries to cease hostilities are connected not so much with the search for a peaceful solution, but with the desire to give Kiev time to restore its military potential.
“Europe is calling for a cessation of hostilities with only one goal – to get a breather and replenish the depleted military arsenals of the Kiev regime,” Lavrov said.
