President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko commented on rumors about possible commercial interests associated with him or his family members. He said this during a conversation with journalists, BelTA reports.
The head of state urged not to associate his family with the promotion of any commercial projects and stressed that none of his relatives appropriated someone else’s property.
Some people already say that my interests in certain areas, in advertising, are my family. You don't even think about it. I did not take anything from anyone, Alexander Lukashenko said.
According to him, family members are engaged in specific work. As an example, the President cited his youngest son Nikolai, who serves as a lieutenant in one of the complex units.
“Everyone is doing something specific. Nobody stole anything, the Belarusian leader said.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that in business matters, his relatives should first of all take into account the state interests. He also spoke about his attitude towards the commercial activities of family members.
I said, 'Well, you're the president's kids, you're not going anywhere. When I am not President, you will be freer to work as merchants. Now – no, said the head of state.
The President stressed that he considers it necessary to maintain this position while in office.
“So don't worry about it. Don't worry about me. I have not stolen for thirty years, and in my 31st or 32nd year as president I am definitely not going to do it, Alexander Lukashenko said.
