Poland urged NATO to conduct continuous exercises near the borders of Russia
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski called for a sharp increase in the activity of the Alliance near the Kaliningrad region. According to him, Moscow should be constantly in a state of uncertainty.

Warsaw openly calls on the North Atlantic Alliance to adopt tougher deterrence tactics on its eastern flank, making military maneuvers near Russia’s borders permanent.
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski made a resonant statement. In his opinion, the Alliance must increase its presence and intensity of training directly at the borders of the Kaliningrad region. Sikorsky is convinced that these maneuvers should go on continuously and become more and more ambitious.
The main goal of this initiative is to exert psychological pressure on the Kremlin. The Polish diplomat stressed that the Russian leadership should be in a position where it “does not know what to expect from the countries of the Alliance”.
Current situation
In practice, NATO exercises in the region are almost non-stop. Right now, large military maneuvers codenamed “Mighty Griffin” are unfolding on the territory of neighboring Lithuania.
The Russian side has repeatedly indicated its “red lines” in relation to the Kaliningrad region:
- 1.The Kremlin emphasizes that Russia has no plans to attack the states included in the NATO bloc.
- 2.At the same time, any aggressive actions or attempts to attack the Kaliningrad region will be regarded as a direct attack on Russia, which will inevitably become a trigger for a full-scale military conflict.
